I am a satisfied licensed user of Powertask for Smartphone and have installed Powercalendar Smartphone on a trial basis on my Samsung i600 running Smartphone 2003. I made a decision not to purchase and have been attempting to uninstall the application. When removing from the phone and the Powercalendar folder on the desktop, all data is removed, but there remains a placeholder shortcut icon on my Smartphone homepage (just an empty picture of a microsoft window). When I select/launch the shortcut, I recieve the following error message: "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename" which I cannot seem to remove. I am running smartphone 2003 which does not give an option to manage shortcuts like Smartphone 2002 did. When I called Microsoft, Verizon and Samsung tech support, all three indicated that the shortcut removal should be initiated through an unistall routine by the ISV. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, other than hard reset, any solutions?

i made a mistake and loaded powercalendar onto my Motorola Q which runs windows mobile 5, and then realized its for windows mobile 2003. I tried to remove the program from my phone and it still shows up in the start menu, so it sounds like our problems might be similar. Have you figured out how to remove it completely?

Windows Remove Programs tool does not always work really well if the program you are trying to remove is still running in the background. If the short cut remains, it can be deleted from the following folder on your device: \Windows\Start Menu
