Distribution Lists for Emails

Is it possible to create "Groups" - like one does in Outlook's Address Book - of contacts with their email addresses, so that I can send an email to all members of a defined group of people instead of having to enter every name separately?

The work around for this is to create a dummy contact such as XYZ Company and in the e-mail field add each email address separated by a ";"
such as " bob@xyz.com; jane@xyz.com; joe@xyz.com " I believe there is a 255 character limit for this field, so you will not be able to do a great number of contacts but it should help in many circumstances.
