I'm a user of Papyrus and am giving AgendaOne a try.

I've mapped A1 to my contacts shortcut and softbutton.

Is there a way to turn off the AgendaOne Splash screen? Or does this go away after I purchase the application? If yes to the later, then that is one good motivation to purchase the product ;)

It is annoying to want to quickly pull up my contacts and see the AgendaOne splash screen everytime before I gain access to it. Yes I can leave it running but I am aware of the product I am using and don't need to see an ad for it everytime I use it for the first time.

Apologies if the tone of this post seems a bit harsh. It's not directed at you. Splash screens to an app as often used as a PIM replacement is just uneccessary self-promotion. If I like the app, trust me, I will tell others about it. As I have for Papyrus and possible AgendaOne if it works for my needs.

Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback and for trialing our software. In house we generally have the application running all the time so the splash screen has never been an issue. Right now the splash does not go away after registration. I will pass on your comments to the Development Team for consideration.

Thanks for your reply Alex. I will wait for the developer's response regarding this. (responsiveness to issues or requests is another good test when evaluating a product) If and when they do change this, please let us know in the forum. I will gladly consider buying A1 when that happens.

(Strange, Codewallet doesn't have an annoying splash screen, the same with Powertasks. I wonder why they would start with splash screens now?)

Right now you may manually reduce the time of the splash screen by opening the agendaone.dat file (the options file)

and change the value in this line: App.SplashDelay=1500 to a lower number or set it to 0.

The agendaone.dat file is located in the \Program Files\Agenda One folder or the Programs Files\Agenda One folder on your storage card.

The agendaone.dat file is a simple text file that you may edit using Notepad or similar on your desktop PC or on your device if you have a text editor.

Thanks!

hey there. i just tried this. i was able to update the file on my desktop and transfer it back but when i open agenda one the splash screen still appears, and the value in the file (which i previously changed to zero) is overwritten and appears as =1500 again. i've tried this a few times w/ the same result. do i need to soft reset before trying to open A1 after updating the file?

Did you Exit Agenda One (not running in the background) prior to editing the agendaone.dat file?

yes i was careful to ensure that A1 was completely shut down before editing. I've also tried rebooting the phone in between editing and starting A1 again to test... no luck :(

Alex,

Thanks for following up on this. I know it's a small request compared to "real" bugs. But you're really showing some great customer service by doing this. Thanks for trying to help us out.

I've managed to reduce the splash screen to a short interval (setting it to 0 still shows a splash screen but this is a start!)

I hope when the team has time they can turn this off completely in a future build. I am impressed so far with the product and the great support. And I'll be keeping an eye on the product and these forums.

zilla31. I don't know what I did differently, copied it to my desktop and edited in notepad and overwrote the original. I still get the splash screen but it only shows for a short while. Not perfect but it's a step in the right direction.
