View Full Version : Some quirks (in v 1.00.3216)

I just returned to the Pocket PC platform again, and have downloaded and installed AgendaOne on my HTC TyTN (WM5). I must say I'm really happy you made a PPC version of this program -- to me, the AgendaFusion became too large to handle, and quite simply was more than I wanted and needed.
However, on Pocket PC AgendaOne seems to have a couple of quirks:
In the week view, if navigation bar and timeline (for today, and on top) is set to show, the navigation bar covers most of the top information.
The look of the date format on the header can be set for all views except the 1 day view.
Most text sizes can be set, but not headers in the month view (days, weeknumbers and preview header)
Also, in month view, I can't change the date format in the preview, but it seems to have the same unchangeable format as the 1 day view.
For some reason, when returning to the task view, it is never expanded/collapsed the same way as when I left it.
If set to follow the Pocket Outlook links, Agenda One is started instead of the built-in Calendar ONLY if it isn't running already.
Once AgendaOne is started and runs in the background, clicking a calendar link starts the built-in calendar instead.
Other than that: Great program. Please keep it as lean as it is -- keep developing the big new features for AgendaFusion, and let this be the nice little calendar replacement it is!
Cool!

Hm, no answer to my previous post... Since you screen the posts before publishing them, does that mean that you report the bugs even if the posts don't get answered?
Just wanna make sure you don't miss them...
In the mean time, let me report another quirk (at least on my HTC TyTn, which comes with a fold-out keyboard) :
For some reason, there is no way for me to insert numbers into the time boxes, neither using the hardware keyboard, nor with the software keyboard. While this worked (with the slight problem with numbers getting doubled) on my Smartphone using the previous build, it seems the only way to enter a time on a PocketPC is to scroll with the arrows.
If I have an appointment at 12:30, that takes a lot of scrolling to get the minutes there, so the ability to punch in numbers using hard- and software keyboards would be appreciated.
Thanks,
/SG.

Thank you for the feedback, with the exception of the Links issue which we are looking at the other things you mention are Options that we do not allow the user to configure. There are so many more things we could allow you configure but every thing we add as an Option or a Setting makes it not so lean. It also makes it harder to find the Settings that most people would regularly change. If we get overwhelming customer response for a particular setting that is not there already we may consider adding it.
With regard to the links,
Certain devices are using different Calendar links than the ones we set for Agenda One. Our Development Team is looking for a way to better handle this. We have an alternative for now, setting a hardware button to your favorite Agenda One view:
· Use the ActiveSync Explore command (Tools - Explore Pocket PC) or the File Explorer on your device to explore the Program Files folder where Agenda One was installed.
Note: From ActiveSync on your desktop this will usually be something like "My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Program Files\Agenda One" or "My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Storage Card\Program Files\ Agenda One". On the device it will be “File Explorer > My Device > Program Files > Agenda One” or “File Explorer > My Device > Storage Card > Program Files > Agenda One”.
· This folder will contain the following shortcut files: Agenda One-agenda, Agenda One-contacts, Agenda One-month, Agenda One-search, Agenda One-tasks, Agenda One-today, and Agenda One-week. (If you cannot see the shortcut names on your device, try switching your device to landscape mode).
· Copy and paste the desired shortcut(s) to the "My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs Folder" (from Active Sync Explorer) Or copy to “Windows > Start Menu > Programs” if using the File Explorer on your device.
· Go to the Start > Settings > Buttons utility on your device to assign a button to your preferred Agenda One view.
· You will now be able to launch your Favorite Agenda One view with the button you selected.

This may have been an issue with an earlier build, please try the latest posted today.
In the time editor, we've added more smarts; press the Center/Action button to advance 15 minutes at a time! To get to 30 press the Center /Action two times, a lot faster than scrolling up or down : ) .
This is a moderated forum, but we try our best answer all approved posts as quickly as possible. Our new product launch has increased questions, comments and feedback so we may be a tad slower than usual for a bit.

I've just downloaded the latest build (.3242) and am happy to see I can now manually enter times for appointments. The center-click 15-minute advance thing was a great idea, too!
Not to be obnoxious, but I just wanted to point out two things that still remian (and that are not really "options" but rather cosmetical bugs)
1. On my HTC TyTN, if selecting not not to use the view picker but rather have the left key to rotate between views, there is no label at all for the left soft key.
While the right soft key is called "menu", the left is blank. Wouldn't it be better either to have it show the name of th next view, or if that's complicated to fix, then "next view"?
2. In the week view, if selecting to "show timelines for current day (top)", regardless of whether I choose to display today on top or not, the orange header hides 90% of the day-header for the topmost day(s)
If selecting to show timelines on all days, no days, or current day (bottom), all is okay.
Hope you can reproduce that,
/SG.

1) We have had a few reports on this but have not been able to reproduce internally yet. It should display the label of the next view.
2) We are looking into this one and can reproduce. Turning off the "Show Navigation Bar" from the Global Settings may be a work around for you.
