Congratz on finally making it happen: An easy-to-use PIM for WM5 that still holds flexibility enough to make most users have it their personal way. Most of all I like the minimalistic clean UI that I am missing from my Palm OS days. This PIM is what actually should be shipped within the OS itself. Lets hope u get some marketing resources to be where new WM5 can see u.
I am also looking forward to the ongoing development of Agenda One. With your responces already on this forum and how this product is described its obvious you are going in the right direction. Now on to my requests:
1. There is no navigaton bar in tasks. Make one, and let it show the actual filtering choosen. This way, I will always know what ex. category filtering I am looking at. Actually there isnt any WM5 PIM at all with this functionality although its a core function on the blackberry, palm os and symbians. I know I can group the tasks so I get headers for categories, dates, etc. But this doesnt give me a clean uncluttered view. If I could filter and see what I have filtered I will get the most simple and clean list available. Also consider making the category field in the navigation bar clickable directly to full page category list so its on click less to get there
2. Let me choose the function for the left soft key. Since I already have choosen agenda one as standard PIM, I have all access to it with the hard buttons. No use for the view functionality. The first thing I would put there is "New" so I can do a new task or new appointment with just one click (instead of two). I do this 10-30 times per day so thats more useful than the view function.
3. Give an option to skip summary page for both appointments and tasks. Like point 1 this has always been a mystery in WM5 PIMS to me; If I press a task or appointment 99% of the times I want to alter the settings for it. Why do I have to first see a summary of what I already know, and then press edit to make my settings?? Make it possible to jump directly into edit page so i quickly can change the date, time, priority or whatever I want to do.
4. Filtering is two clicks too many. Let me get to full page category list by pressing Filter in Menu directly. Looking at the last used categories doesnt do me any good. I want to see all my categories (and No categories, no filter, show completed) directly.
5. New task details pages: Give an option of setting due date to None, today, or current shown date. Most tasks for instance is set to no dates (Pure GTD fashion). This is the common setting for most, I guess so let that be standard.
6. More on New task details: Sooo nice If I could arrange the order of the fields. I dont use priorities, start dates, sensitivity for instance. Most important for me and other GTD:ers are categories, so I would put that field right below the subject followed to due date and notes. If I could remove the other fields from the task details view that would be ideal, but I guess that is much harder to do?
7. Task details occurs: Beautyful design!!! I just miss the standard custom field so I can put ToDos in like every weekdays or only saturday and sunday and similar obscure patterns :)
8. The sorting of tasks i a bit awkward. Normally I would like to sort it like; Overdue tasks, todays tasks, future tasks and at the end of the list undated tasks. Now the future tasks comes first and then todays and then overdue.
9. Always go to today option...So when I press the calendar hard button I always get to todays date (note: NOT Today view, that option is already in there :) )
10. Maybe the easiest way to achieve most of my task edit dialog related requests would be to make an option to choose the WM5 original Task Edit dialog(as a simplified version that it is) MabTasks has this option.
Okay, I am buying this right off, uninstall PocketInformant and forgetting about any other attempt at PIM replacements. You have my vote, with or without my requests: )
