Just installed Agenda One... LOVE IT and its on my purchase list for sure! One thing, I need to be able to change my viewing option in the contact list to First name, Last name. Looks like the default is Last,First and i dont see anywhere to change this.

If you want to change your viewing option for the Contact view, you will need to either go into the contacts and edit each on your device or your desktop to choose the File As field to be the First Name, Last Name option, you should be able to just toggle right on the device in each contact to make this change OR a couple of cliks in each contact on the desktop Outlook contact record will also do it. That is the same method to use to change it back to Last name, First name also -- just change the File As field in each contact record. Agenda One uses the "File As" field for displaying your contacts.

Are names filed as companies? Wonder whats the diff. If you only have a company name listed and not a contact name in the contact data, for example, 'Jackson Dental', then the company name will indeed become the 'File As' that shows in your contact list view. ---- You can choose to search by 'company' in Agenda One. You will find the setting by going from the Contacts View to Menu > Options > find the first Also Search option, open it and choose 'Company' as the setting.

Thanks for the reply. Wish is was that easy.
First - there are no options on my WM5 device (Treo 750) for setting the File-As option. I did look for that before posting (Looked in normal contacts and in Agenda one, the only place I found this option was in Pocket Informant which doesnt change the flag, it a feature for display only).
Second - I do not use outlook (Im on a Mac). There are settings on the Mac Address Book for this, but again only affects the display and doesnt change the contact flag.
So I guess im stuck unless you add this as a display feature.

1. You are correct, the Pocket PC devices do not have the File As option in the operating system. 2. If you are not able to change the contacts 'File As' on your desktop, you may want to try our Agenda Fusion program that allows the contact view to be displayed By First Name, By Company, as well as a number of other choices similar to PI.

Well... There is a reason I liked your Agenda One vs. "OTHERS" and that reason happens to be exactly why you developed it. Ease of use, one handed operation, etc... If I wanted to go back to a full blown "Professional Mobile Time Management for your Pocket PC" I would still be using my Pocket Informant, which I still have to, but would rather migrate to Agenda One. No reason to switch to yet another Professional Mobile Time Management software = Fusion.
So if your only answer/solution for this problem is purchase different software, and ditch Agenda One, I may have to just rely on my bloated Pocket Informant. I will look for a fix for this elsewhere or follow your advise.
Thanks for your "help" and suggestions.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. We appreciate that you value the ease of use and one handed nature of Agenda One. Part of keeping the application easy to use and a small memory foot print is not overwhelming the user (or the application) with too many options and settings. We try very hard to include the most commonly needed and used options and settings to meet the majority of the needs of the majority of users. Sorting by First Name in the Contacts view has not been a highly requested feature, but if it became one it might be something we considered adding in the future.
You have a very nice keyboard on the Treo. When I need to quickly find someone by first name, I just start pressing keys (i.e B-O-B or 262 on a 12 key Smartphone) and I find that Agenda One drills down my contact list very rapidly. I know that is not the perfect solution for you, but hopefully it is not a lot of extra effort, and it may make it easier to find your contacts more quickly with the options that are currently available.
Agenda One is not intended as a replacement for Agenda Fusion, but offers you another choice. For those of you that want the absolutely easiest to use solution for Windows Mobile, Agenda One is an excellent choice.
Agenda Fusion brings an amazing Outlook-style experience to your Pocket PC, offering many of the same features that you would find on your desktop PC, and even more.
In the end, it is your specific needs that best determine which solution will work the best for you.

Great response, thank you. Im sure many wont request this feature if its possible to accomplish this simply using features of outlook before syncing. Since I use a MAC, the First/Last feature is built in to address Book, but not passed during sync. I may have to request this feature from the developers of Missing Sync.
The only reason I requested this feature is to create a Speed Dial list in a contact filter that displays First/Last name. Other then that, when viewing my entire contact list Agenda one does in fact handle search's with ease!
Great product!

I think that the there ia a small program called Toolbox 3 which will handle the file as field issue and allow you to set all you contacts as desired.
This app is small and inexpensive. This may allow you to continue with Agenda One which is IMHO the best and easiest PIM on the market.
