Export a Contact This is a copy of a post I shared on another forum and then it hit me what a great feature for Agenda One. You know it is hard being as good as Agenda One is because someone like comes along and says well what if it could do this.... we always want more.

OK now here is I think is a good question. I am out and about. A friend of mine calls me and says can you email me the contact info for the uniform company we used at the last hotel we worked at.

First I said buy a Treo 750 with hosted exchange server.

Then I said no problem as he knows I save every contact.

So now comes the hard part and maybe I am making it hard.

I start an email to my friend and then launch the contact list.

Filter down to the contact and select edit.

I copy first field of contact data and and I want to task switch back to the email. This does not work as WM requires you to OK the contact as you can not leave it in edit or if you do it is not active on a return trip.

Now with the contact back in view mode I task switch back to the email and paste my first line of contact data.

Start menu contact and repeat. This contact had 7 lines of data.

During this process I dialed the contacts office line once and his pager also. I quickly hit end and found myslef on the home screen as we all know what happen when you dial or answer.

What a pain. Tell me there is an easier way, for the love of all things digital help me out.

I know I could have waited until I get in front of a computer with Outlook, but the point of a mobile device is freedom. You know if a program could export the whole selected contact record as an html that would be great. Agenda One exports the call log of a contact as html and attaches it to an out bound email ready to address (really cool and great program).

This is funnier now then when I was dancing the start menu dance.

Thank you, a great suggestion indeed.

Are you thinking along the lines of the built-in contacts application "Send Contact" SMS/vCard/MMS/E-mail functionality where you can check off which fields you'd like to include or something a bit different?

I like the email call log feature of Agenda One.

My vision would be

Agenda One > Contacts > Scroll To Contact > More > Forward Contact

The next screen would launch a new email with blank to field and a exported html attachment with all (or limited) of the contact fields for the selected contact. I suppose you will need to see the recap of what is sent prior to sending, similiar to the call log.

I suppose you could go into what fields it exports but then you will have people who do not want to choose, people who want all fields and people who want a limited set.

Maybe an option menu for what fields but then it becomes much more complicated. Or an option menu of groups of fields like phone numbers, addresses, emails, etc instead of a long list of field by field.

If it was me I would want catagories:
- Full Name, Title, Company (this happens with every export)

Option Boxes (check mark)
- Phone numbers off
- Email off
- Mobile off
- Address off
- Business fields off
- Home fields on
- All fields including notes on (this would overide all of the above)

So by default if you select no boxes you will get the following:
- Full Name, Title, Company
- Phone numbers (business only)
- Email fields
- Mobile phone
- Address (business only)

Hey this kind of looks like a template also.

This is of course subjective, but this is my view working in the hospitality industry and dealing with suppliers and corporate guests.

What do you think?

Thanks!
I've copied all of these details and we'll be sure to review it as we work on v2 updates.

Have a great weekend!
