I downloaded the new v4 version of RapidCalc from Handango (I'm a registered user), and installed on my VGA Dell x50v, but it doesn't seem to work. Whenever I select "Rapidcalc" from the input choices, the PPC just beeps and then keeps the currently selected input method. I installed to Built In Storage.

Do you have a SD card inserted into your PPC? This was a problem with PPC2002 devices and with all 3rd Party Input Methods. After some discussion with other developers, as crazy as it seems in some cases removing the SD card and soft-resetting would reenable the selection of 3rd Party Input Methods. You can then reinsert your SD card and everything should work fine. We're working with Microsoft to resolve the issue but in many cases we cannot repeat the problem (even with an SD card inserted).

-ChadOkay, so why does this work? Been trying to get v4 running on my Dell Axim X50v for some time now (ever since I upgraded to the 03 ROM, I believe) with no results. Came across this post and laughed, but decided, what the heck. Imagine my surprise when it worked!

Got an email on 5/16/05 that said "part of the issue is due to the OS using a lot of the core memory avilable to applications on the X50V. The issue is that the OS is not loading our app due to a lack of memory needed in a specific area of the device and we are looking to see if there are workarounds that can remove this problem." Doesn't look like that workaround has been found yet? Oh well, maybe with Windows Mobile 5.0 this will go away...;)

Thought it might be useful for those having similar problems to read the information given here (http://forums.developerone.com/showpost.php?p=4596&postcount=6) since it helps explain what's going on... HTH
