Default Compatibility with Opera 8.6 for Windows Mobile

I have started to use the new Opera Web browser on my Pocket PC. This has been configured so it is the default browser.

Unfortunatley, CodeWallet would appear to use Pocket IE by default for Web links / URL's. Is there a registry fix for a work around or will this involve a software change to detect the correct default browser?

Regards

Steve

Sorry for the delay in response. Currently, we do use Pocket Internet Explorer only for web links. This was done primarily because it is one that most use and is guaranteed to be on the device. Now that there are some other mobile browsers we may consider changing this. Thanks for your suggestion.

Hi Dave,

It should just be a case of getting the default browser from 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http' and 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https'. Then, CWP would use the preferred browser of the user. All the inbuilt Microsoft software (Inbox, Notes etc) automatically switch to using Opera via this mechanism.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks for the information. It isn't high on our priority list, but if it is an 'easy' plug in and doesn't adversly affect other portions of code, it may be in a future release but no guarantees.
