![]() If you're using the latest release of Power Calendar (v2.5 or later) be sure to experiment with the new Power Text feature!
Power Text is a powerful macro/text entry tool that lets you create your own list of phrases for quickly inserting into any task or appointment. But, it goes much farther than just simple text insertion. By using one of the many dynamic phrase tags, you can include a tag for a contact's first name in your text. Let's illustrate... Creating a Power Text phrase called "Call someone". The text of the phrase might read like "Call <fn> @ <wt>" (meaning Call <contact name> @ <work telephone>) When you are editing a new task or appointment, simply selecting "Call Someone" from your "My Power Text" menu will automatically prompt you for a contact, and then it will also automatically insert that contact's telephone number into the subject or note section of your new item! To learn more, find the powertext.xml file on your Smartphone by opening the ActiveSync explorer on your desktop when connected to your Smartphone. Browse to the following folder on your Smartphone: \IPSM\Program Files\Power Calendar folder (for Smartphone 2002) \Storage\Program Files\Power Calendar folder (for Smartphone 2003) Drag a copy of the powertext.xml file to your desktop and open it with any text editor (like Notepad) In the file, you will find examples as well as definitions of all of the custom phrase tags you can include in Power Text phrases. You can even use Power Text to help you track time on the phone, insert date/time stamps and so much more! |
