Default Contact Colors

I am trying to display my contact names in category colors. I understand that only occurs in the one line display. If so how do I change from my present two-line display to a one-line contact display ? I have AgendaOne installed on a Blackjack.
Thanks

The single-line display or Compressed view has nothing to do with colors showing or not. 1) To find the view options, go from the Agenda View for example to Menu > Options , scroll down to the settings Compressed Mode, choose YES, Multi-line appts, choose NO, and Multi-line tasks, choose NO. NOTE: There is not an option to show only one line in the Contact view.
2) to show the colors by category for contact names, FIRST you need to change a setting, go to Menu > Options > Global Settings, scroll down to the 'Text Color' setting and choose 'color by category'. THEN, be sure you have chosen category colors assigned to your categories by going to Menu > Options, Manage Categories, be sure you have chosen colors in the far right column of boxes for each category.

Have done that with no success. I then went to Menu/Customize colors/Contacts Contact Names and did Menu/2 Agenda One and still no change. The Appointment colors are working fine in Category colors.
I have every category with an assigned color.
Thanks

Sincere apology for the confusion and error reply to your first post. You are not able to view the text by category color in Agenda One. You can only use text coloring in the Contact view that would be the same text color for all. To indicate categories in the Contact View, 1) you can see the assigned category icons in the Contact view list; 2) you can Filter the view by category by going to Menu > Filter, there choose a category to filter the view list.

Default Line colored in contact/category view vs. Text

Anyway to have a color for the line - NOT the text - when assigning colors to categories? Thanks!
